Join us for a Private Event: Social Impact and the Future of Media with CAA's Darnell Strom

Thursday, April 26, 2018, in San Francisco

For our first collaboration with Filmologic, we'll be featuring Darnell Strom, agent at Creative Artists Agency (CAA), which represents talent and creatives like Jordan Peele and Malala Yousafzai. Prior to CAA, Darnell worked for the Obama and Clinton administrations.

During this talk, will explore the need for producing both quality and compelling content because the demand for more video and multimedia content will only increase as platforms in streaming media, social media, and VR innovate and improve. But what about impact? Why should we be looking at creating stronger storytelling instead of clickbait and fluff? What is our responsibility as creators and creatives? How do we go about making things that matter for ourselves, our clients, and our audiences? Why does it matter?

The discussion will be guided by our hosts, Igor Boshoer, founder of Filmologic and Linc; and Arabella DeLucco, co-founder of WEXL.

As an added bonus, we'll also have Cara Jones, multiple Emmy award-winning journalist, who is about to release her documentary, "Second Coming", about her own life growing up as a cult member of the infamous "Moonies." Cara is also the founder of Storytellers for Good, a social enterprise telling impactful video stories of organizations and people making a difference.
